Archaeological Museum of Kos

The Archaeological Museum of Kos located in the town of Kos. The museum houses sculptures found during the Italian archaeological expedition, after the devastating earthquake of 1933. Besides there are two collections, one of prehistoric pottery and metal objects related to the early stages of development of the city of Kos and other furnishings from the Roman period, here are also statues of the Hellenistic and Roman periods, found during the excavations at the Odeum, of which the most important is that of Hippocrates, which dates from the fourth century BC. There is also a collection of mosaics from the Roman houses.
